Aris Dimokidis

Aris Dimokidis was born in Thessaloniki in 1978, where he currently resides. When he was a child, he used to go to music school, listen to foreign tunes, watch all the kids' programs on TV, write children's stories and edit self-created newspapers. When he grew up, he decided to take up writing. He became a reporter, since he liked true stories and reality. But, he became a writer, too, since he liked fairytales and fantasy adventures.

His best job was working in London International Gallery of Children's Art - it took him back to his memories as a child, when he had been wriring fairytales and giving them away to friends. That's when he started exhibiting symptoms of regression to childhood...

He maintains that his reason for writing childers' books is that he becomes a kid again. Apart from fairytales, he writes articles for magazines and newspapers. He usually writes about the things he likes and gets excited about, which, in some strange way, are much more than those that get on his nerves.

He would like to be able to fly and turn invisible, but more than that, he'd love to be able to get inside his own stories and take part in the fun adventures his characters embark upon.

7 of his works have been published in the last two years, four novels staring the siblings Stella and Stefanos, one picture book, one fairytale collection and one novel starring the little Invisible Reporters. Unfortunately, none of the books are available in English.
