Sotiris MpampatzimopoulosSotiris Babatzimopoulos was born in Thessaloniki in 1980. He studied Management in the University of Macedonia, Creative Writing in the University of Leeds (U.K) and Media in Santiago de Compostela University (Spain). He has been working on his PhD in the English Literature Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki since 2007. He has worked for the official Thessaloniki and Drama Film Festivals' publications, is occasionally writing articles for various Thessaloniki publications (mainly Exostis), while being currently employed as a languages teacher. He initially started writing at a very young age, being fascinated by Agatha Christie's crime-quizzes and, since high school, has taken part in several literary competitions, at times successfully. Some of his stories have been published in the award-winning short-story collection "Tales from the City, stories from the sea" at the contest held by the British Council. He has also written stories for several greek short-story collections, magazines and competitions. His novel, co-written with Giannis Palavos, is not, unfortunately, available in English. |
